(1) There are two versions of this text floating around: The original, where is says "Wie treu sind Deine Blätter", and the version that most Germans know today, which says "Wie grün sind Deine Blätter". We will use this second, more common version. In the example, Nana Mouskouri sings the original text. Pleae practice it with "grün", regardless.
(2) There are many, many (did I mention many?) versions of this song around. I assume the reason is that the 19th century original is way too militaristic for today. You can see the original here. We decided for the version that is on the sheet music that Sonja will play, which is much more appropriate for today's listeners. The version that is on You Tube has yet another version of the text.
