A MESSAGE FROM YOUR PRESIDENT

Liebe Mitglieder (Dear Members),

I would like to congratulate and thank the many members who took the time and effort to represent the Delaware Sängerbund in the Newark 250th Year Parade on Saturday April 11.

Granted, we didn’t have the 800 members there that I had jokingly predicted, but we had at least 175 persons, still a large number.  The day was a huge success for the City of Newark and the members of our club.

I was proud to represent the D.S.B., and it was my impression, observing our members, that each and every one attending was happy and proud to represent the strong German-American community and our wonderful club.  It was evident that we are well known in the community and well respected by the applause the crowd gave us. It was also evident that the members marching in the parade had a great time and hopefully formed new bonds with people they befriended.  That is what parades are all about, unity and strength.

I hope you enjoyed the refreshments and the Geműtlichkeit afterwards.  Thank you again for participating and we will have to do this again soon.

Mit freundlichen Grüssen,

Richard Grieb
