Welcome to the 8-11 year old class! Here, you will find information about homework, classroom rules and materials, and other current information.

Class Materials

1) Binder or Folder: Please oganize worksheets and other materials used in class in a folder or binder.

2) Pen or pencil/letter-sized writing pads: Please make sure that you have something to write with and on when you come to class.

3) Book: This year's book is Der grüne Max 1. If you are not comfortable with ordering online, we can also order it for you and you can buy it from DSB. Please email or talk to the teacher.

4) Audio files of book dialogs - right click/ctrl click to download these to practice hearing what you read.

Rotating Snack Schedule

Our snack schedules (click link or scroll below) are generally appreciated by students as a welcome break and refreshment. Every student takes turns every once in a while and provides a snack for the whole class. Because choosing a snack is up to the students and their parents, the choice of snack is usually a surprise and may occasionally involve traditional German goodies. For example, Lebkuchen contain almonds, which may or may not have been processed in a facility that also processes peanuts. For these reasons, we do not want to limit the choices and ask parents that you inform us in case your child has food allergies. In this case, we would ask you to provide the appropriate food for your child. In this case, of course, you would not be asked to take part in the snack schedule rotation.
